What is the Sonault Sound Vault?
It's the idea Sonault is built on: one private vault on your Mac where every sound effect you save stays, forever. Each sound is a regular audio file in a folder you own, labeled and searchable, ready to drag into any editor. No subscription can take it away.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Download Sonault and sign in to get the full app free for 14 days. Every feature is unlocked and no credit card is required. One trial per person and per Mac.
What happens when my trial ends?
Your sound library stays exactly where it is on your Mac. Sonault won't delete or lock your files. Purchase a one-time license to continue importing, trimming, organizing, and dragging sounds from Sonault into your projects.
Does it work with my editor?
Yes. Every sound in Sonault is a real local audio file. If your editor accepts dragged audio files (DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, Audition, and others), it works.
Can I bring the sound library I already have?
Yes. Drag a whole folder of sound effects onto Sonault and everything lands in one pass, so you are not re-importing years of files one by one. Your originals stay where they are.
Can I pull the audio out of my own video files?
Yes. Drag a video from your Mac into Sonault and it keeps only the audio, then you trim it on the waveform like any other sound. The video file itself is left untouched.
Where are my sounds stored?
In a normal folder on your Mac. No cloud, no proprietary database lock-in. Back it up with Time Machine like everything else.
What macOS versions are supported?
macOS 14 Sonoma and later, on both Apple Silicon and Intel.
How do I activate it? Is there a license key?
No license keys. Download Sonault and sign in with your email. New eligible users automatically start a 14-day trial. Buying from inside the app uses the email you're signed in with, so Sonault unlocks as soon as you return to it. Buying on the website? Use that same email at checkout.
What about the legality of ripping YouTube audio?
Sonault is a tool, like a screen recorder. You are responsible for having the rights to the audio you import. Many editors use it for royalty-free packs, their own uploads, and licensed content.
