Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 13, 2026
Sonault is a native macOS app sold with a one-time purchase. We collect the minimum needed to sell you the app and keep your license working — nothing else. No ads, no analytics trackers, and we never sell your data.
Who is responsible for your data
Sonault is operated by GF TECH TECNOLOGIA LTDA, registered in Brazil under CNPJ 41.587.586/0001-10. We are the controller of the personal data described below. For any privacy request, email hello@sonault.com.
Your sound library stays on your Mac
The sounds you import, your labels, favorites, and search history live in a folder on your Mac and are never uploaded to us. When you import from a link, your Mac downloads the audio directly from the source (for example YouTube or Freesound); that traffic does not pass through our servers.
What we collect, and why
- Account: your email address. Sign-in codes are stored only as cryptographic hashes and expire after 10 minutes.
- Devices: to enforce the 3-Mac limit, each signed-in Mac reports its name, hardware model, macOS and app version, and a one-way hash of its hardware identifier (we never receive the identifier itself).
- Security: the IP address and country of sign-ins and license checks, kept to prevent abuse and account takeover.
- Purchases: payment is processed entirely by Stripe. We receive your email, name, country, and the amount paid — never your card number.
Services we rely on
Stripe (payments), Resend (transactional email), Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), and Upstash (rate limiting) process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies. The app checks GitHub for updates; that request is a standard download and includes no account data.
Retention and deletion
We keep account and purchase records while your license is active and as required for accounting. Email hello@sonault.com to access or delete your data — a human handles it.
